A book can be simple and poetic, yet full of valuable teaching material. That’s what I found in Water Can Be…by Laura Purdie Salas and illustrated by Violeta Dabija (Millbrook Press, 2014). In 95 words, Salas takes readers from spring through autumn and portrays the many roles of water in its various forms. It is fun to read and full of ways to use in the classroom. This book is a discovery of all the great things water can be.
